General Meeting Program August 13, 2019



Jean Moelter and Teena Booth 

will present a night of wondrous entertainment!




     Radio show host Jean Moelter will conduct a 30-minute interview with highly successful screenwriter and author Teena Booth. Topics will include character, story structure, and genre as well as persistence, meeting deadlines, and collaborating. Their discussion will be followed by questions from the audience.


Biography of Jean Moelter (interviewer)


          Jean Moelter is the host of Artsy People, a weekly talk show on Excellent Radio KYXZ 107.9 FM. She often performs stories and comedy on local stages, and her one-woman show Holy Crap! was produced at San Luis Obispo Little Theatre in 2015. Her essays and articles have appeared in many publications. As playwright-in-residence at North End Children’s Theatre, she wrote five plays for young actors. Two of her one-act comedies were chosen for the Pierce County Playwrights Festival. 

     Jean has been a member of Nightwriters for about 10 years and has done many editing, critiquing, and judging jobs for the organization. She’s currently the welcome committee.


Teena Booth is a 2003 winner of the prestigious Chesterfield Screenwriting Fellowship, a program sponsored by Paramount Pictures that originated with the support of Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment.  She has since penned numerous television movies for CBS, TNT, the Lifetime Network, ABC Family, the Hallmark Channel, and Netflix, with over 40 produced movies to her credit.  Her 2009 movie Natalee Holloway became the number one original movie in the Lifetime Movie Networks eleven-year history.  Booth is also the author of the young adult novel Falling From Fire published by Random House in 2002, and the non-fiction Unfinished Evolution, published through her own Scotalyn Press in 2009.

Please keep your submission to two pages, typed, 12-point font, double spaced. This is a great—and safe—way to see what the critiquing process is all about, get valuable feedback from two fantastic writers, and practice reading your work to a small audience

Please bring 3 copies of your work, one to read from and one each for Susan and Terry.
